and non-religion is still growing faster than any religion all around the world. We just have to be on guard to watch out for any nonsense that replaces it.

The internet... Where religion goes to die.

@glasavvatten Yeah you're right. I mean history is there to back that up.
Humans have waged war in the name of religion, burned women, slavery etc
All things that were allowed by religion. And if you look at all the great societies of the past or the current ones the ones that blossomed the most were the ones that allowed people from all different background and religions to come to their lands to advance their society. It wouldn't hurt to have more irreligious people here.

@TOTCD Again I agree with you. As I wrote it depends on how you define it. But in my last class there was two out of 62 people who said they belived in god. I think in general it might be bigger especially in the older generation and outside bigger cities. Of course religion can be a good thing. I would never agree with those people who despise it. I am not religious but I do see a lot of happiness and kindness through religion. But ofcourse it can also attract the opposite.

@rhinodanny1 As a Catholic, do you regard Jesus Christ as your savior?

@glasavvatten YEs but irreligion or being non-religious doesn't mean you have to practice. I know alot of people especially young people who simply don't go to church or mosques anymore. But in Europe in general the non-religious population is larger than the one in the US. The US is very religious which isn't really a bad thing if you ask me.
It's personal and can help people out. But when it gets in the way of medical progress or liberty then it becomes problematic.

@TOTCD hmm maybe you are right. I think it differs in what you define as belief. Loads of swedes says they believe in something. But I do not think it is as much as 30 percent of the population that practice a religion.

@glasavvatten Think it's more like 70 percent.
