This is a 77 Chevy flat bed dually pick up that I just bought. It has a Detroit 4-53T with 5 speed New process trans. I am pulling this fine power plant out to put in my 79 Suburban.

  • uh do u have to mix the diesel with oil like any other two stroke

    lol

  • @crazyashell389

HA HA, no, it doesn't work that way in these.

  • my 6.2 is 28 years old 250,000 miles,, 21 mpg,,? i really dont think that falls in the pos catagory? I dont think thats to bad at all no they dont have all the power in the world but still run forever and very cheap truck to drive. these new 5.4 fords are the biggest pos on the road, junk.

  • @tobysteve22

Yeah, I hear of a few few people now and again that have good luck with them, but the majority are nightmares. Just do a Google search and you will see just how many have problems. I will have to agree on the Fords also.

  • @tobysteve22 agreed i have its big brother 6.5 turbo with no problems for 18 years 260k.. there was a reason the military put them in everything

  • For the guy who asked how 6.2 and 6.5 litre engines made it in to a Detroit Diesel forum, please know the 6.2 was a Detroit Diesel design when DDC was owned by General Motors. Also, they designed the the engine around a International cast block. Just look on top of the block and you'll find a "Diamond logo".

  • do those detroits have alot of pulling power or are they juss for sounding and makin the rig badass lol

  • @bighunterman77 that kind of tranny is hard to find b´cos i live in mexico !! and i really want to see my truck with two sticks !!!!

  • @gmbo6969 - I think a lot of people get the 6.2 and 6.5 confused with the 5.7 Oldsmobile diesel.... which has a bad repuation.... 6.2/6.5 is not a bad engine... even the 5.7 wasn't really that bad... most people who owned them drove and maintained them as they would a gas engine... diesels don't live very long under those conditions....

  • @tobysteve22 - gotta love those 6.0 Power Jokes.... LOL - They DO sound nice through open exhaust though...

  • Hey. Nice truck. I got a 4-71 I'm putting in a truck. I was wondering how fast your truck will go so I will have a idea about mine

  • @dieselinside69 just get a NV 4500 or 5600 from a Dodge or GM and an adapter for it to bolt on

  • @crazyashell389 mmm does any body know if is possible to take out my stupid nopower E40d tranny and swichet to a two sticks tranny my ford truck got a 7.3 liter navistar powered engine please somebody help me !!
