Around 500 graduates walked the stage at 2010 Autumn Graduation on Dec. 10, fulfilling a promise they'd made to their families, communities and themselves.

"To the graduates here today, I want to wish you the best of luck, and hope, above all else, that you never, and I mean never, give up on your dreams or yourselves," said graduation speaker Trevor Winland.

Dr. David Harrison, Columbus State President: Every single graduate here today has an important story on how you got here. There are over 500 stories of perseverance, hard work, academic brilliance, courage, and opportunities realized. Many of our students overcome difficult challenges to persist in their education. They refuse to be denied an opportunity to pursue their dream. Each of these stories has positioned you to start a new, exciting, rewarding chapter in your lives. You're ready, and we need you out here. On behalf of the faculty, staff and administration at Columbus State: Congratulations!

Larry James, Keynote Speaker: Like many of you when I graduated from college I was eager to do well so I could make a difference for myself, my family and my community. 35 years later I'm still on that journey and at times find the struggle. But the pursuit is well worth it as you've experienced here today.

Trevor Winland, Summa Cum Laude Graduate: Looking back at my educational journey up to this point, I now realize how important Columbus State was. Without this institution I may have very well have given up on my education. For this, I'm extremely grateful. To the graduates here today, I want to wish you the best of luck, and hope, above all else, that you never, and I mean never, give up on your dreams or yourselves.

Dr. Michael Snider, Interim Provost: Ladies and gentlemen I present to you the graduating class of Columbus State Community College, autumn quarter, 2010. Graduates, you may now move your tassels to the left side.

Graduate: Oh my gosh, it was so great. The journey is over with school, but back again for my career.

Graduate: It's amazing, I can't believe I actually did it. I plan on continuing my education and see where life takes me.

Graduate: It feels great. I feel excellent. I've worked hard. I achieved what I needed to achieve. I'm ready to keep going, keep going in life, that's what I'm ready to do.
