This is a live unboxing of the Gateway NV7802u Laptop Computer. It is a sleek laptop with a large 17.3 inch HD screen. It has a Intel Core 2 Duo mobile process T6600, 800MHz frontside bus, 2MB L@ cache and 2.2GHz processor. It has an ample 4 GB of DDR3 memory with a DVD+-/CD-RW double-layer drive. It also supports DVD-RAM. Although it has a large 500gb drive, it would have been nice to see a 7200rpm drive instead of a 5400rpm drive. It has an adequate webcam for basic webcam use, a multi-in-1 digital media reader and 4 USB 2.0 ports. The WiFI is 802.11 a/b/g/n and has the Windows 7 64 bit Premium Edition on it. The video will handle HD video, but don't expect to use this as your primary gaming machine because the built in graphics will just not do for a real gamer. This weighs in at 7.4 lbs so this should be used as a desktop replacement. It is only 1.4 inches thin and has a deceivingly profile. I do recommend this for anyone who is looking for a desktop replacement.

  • Awesome laptop

  • this laptop socks so hard for gaming i feel like shit becoz i got it

  • I have the nv79

  • i got the gateway nv53a24u its a new model 15.6 inches full key bord i was gonna get the 1 u have but its to much

  • is it a gaming laptop?

  • @camfitz007 Actually, it did. My computer began restarting, because one of the pins was bent and continued touching one of the others (and began sparking at times, among other things, also,it was bent because i had been using the port, and somehow it had been working, till i wondered why the port wouldn't allow my connector all the way in. secondly, it is not a easy or inexpensive fix, because unless your soldering in a new usb port somehow, you need to replace the motherboard completely.

  • @xKARASx when your usb ports broke apart did it affect the computer's performance? no. dont complain, thats an easy fix

  • i hav that computer. its awesome

  • i guess u want more comps eh? looks like u have like 5 or 6 lol

  • i am NOT going to post this comment

  • Personally like Apple and HP brands but this looks nice too

  • two of my usb ports on this laptop broke, literally, the black plastic guard around the teeth just came out...i didn't abuse it or anything, just the make of it was complete shit. I'm sending it in for repairs now, god willing they don't bullshit me and blame me for their shoddy construction of it and attempt to charge me..I've owned and still own several computers/laptops and there has never been a situation like this with any of my usb ports. Anyone else got the same problem with theirs?

  • I think it all depends on the local store, not the internet listing. When I found my laptop at BestBuy it was indiscretely stashed on the bottom shelf below the netbooks, not on display and was easy to miss. Luckily for me I saw the Gateway "spot" logo and went over to look at it. If I were you I would go to more than one BestBuy (if they are around where you live) and check. One store may have what the other doesn't. Good luck hunting. :-)

  • It was listed online for 600 and it caught my eye, and since I'll be able to get one real soon. Today when I clicked on my bookmark for the product listing, the page didn't exist. I'm wondering if they may still have some left. Do you think so?

  • DO You guys think i should get this as my only computer? I had a nv5214u, but the screen broke. I Do play games, but not really new ones, the newest one i play is tf2 and garry's mod

  • Thanks for this post! Bought the laptop today and this video gave me an idea on what to expect. Like many, Im computer and technologically challenged and you did a good job at explaining!

  • This laptop is awesome! I'm going to make somebody mad but I went to get this laptop today at Best Buy for the advertised $599.99 (a good price anyway - compared to a $750 dell I saw with identical specs & components on display there) and to my VERY PLEASANT surprise the guy helping me (with a look of amazement on his face) told me the laptop was ringing up as only $450 because it was being discontinued! Man did I get the deal of a life time! I am elated. Praise God! Hallelujah. Amen. :-)

  • yeah, ddr3 is NOT 2X faster than DDR2. In fact, it's not even that much faster.

  • I just brought the nv7915u today it's great it got some good specs

  • Im a little irritated...

    2 days ago..I bought the newer NV7915u ( Core i3 processor ) to this NV7802u. for $649.....

today...its $599.. I should have waited a few days to get this laptop then I would've saved $50. Its a GREAT laptop..and its fast too. Screen is HUGE. LOL.

  • @hondaaccourd5

    Best Buy $599

  • bestbuy

  • Just for reference, DDR3 is NOT twice as fast as DDR2, everybody.

  • Those who say that the pen is mightier than the sword have obviously never tried to unbox a gateway.

  • Don't do it... New and better gateways just came out today. Look at the NV5926u for instance..
