for a man of his age, at the time, this was amazing tonal quality, finger dexterity and utter perfection of every note...but, you haven't heard anything til you hear him play Rachmaninoff...love it.

Such a touching ending, you can tell how much he loves and identifies with the music he plays! I find range of tonal colour that Horowitz achieves astonishing - every single note has clearly been carefully considered and it results in a real sense of communication in every single phrase. @PLichnowsky Yes, he does have a way to bring out sounds that nobody else can. I also suspect the piano has something to do with it, too. Sounds silly to say, but he really is at one with the instrument hich means he chose it very well.
