The #1 complaint that women have is "How do I fix the lip lines around my mouth?" The answer is complicated that involves both perception and intervention. Dr. Lam, Dallas Facial Plastic Surgeon, helps to clarify how he approaches lip lines.

key words: smoker's lines, lip lines, fine lines around mouth, botox, dermabrasion, restylane, fillers, silicone, dermabrasion

  • What are your thoughts on the use of Pelleve for around the mouth?

  • @Purrrsuasive1 no idea. :)

  • I do like your 'management' approach and the 'stop focusing' phrase, as soon as I looked in the mirror and tried to see my face objectivley a lot of flaws lessened and I can more clearly see it is the sagging and lines that sit above my cheeks cause me too look more tired. I will leave the 'management' to my doc and try to focus a bit more positively myself. I always use a magnifying mirror, and may switch to a regular mirror!

  • @msslynne1 cool.

  • Love this one. Sounds like Botox would actually be better than filler for my lines-I seem to move a lot when I speak etc.

But also, like you said, I probably don't need it! Think I'll cross that area off my wishlist for now :-)

  • @grainnemurphy nice!

  • I had the rigid look around my lips~hated that and glad it went away! I did like botox around my eyes for crows feet. I have smokers lines and dentures and will ask my doc about it. I am going in to get my between eyebrows and forehead done around eyes again and probably filler under my eyes.

  • @LaWillz not really. you could use fillers but that would probably not work. i don't think those lines make you look bad in general anyway. just my opinion.

  • what about lip lines on the lips (vertical lines on bottom lip) What can really help them vanish?
