Long Island Compost dust July 1, 2010-Town of Brookhaven-DEC

This is a video of the compost dust, that is constantly migrating off of there Yaphank site. We have been living with this for 10 years, and as of yet, the Town of Brookhaven and the DEC, has not put a stop to it. A just released Health department air quality two year study, found the Long Island compost facility is by far the worst offender of all compost sites studied, with odors dectected 77.8 percent of the samples taken. Legally anything over 20% is considered a NUISANCE, so why hasn't the Town of Brookhaven or the DEC, put a stop to this quality of life and health issue, and ignored our complaints for ten years. Maybe because the Town of Brookhaven has issued the Long Island compost the towns yard waste contract for ten years, it now sends almost 32,000 tons of yard waste to this site, and is in the process of closing the Manorville site, and awarding the Long Island compost, all of the towns yard waste.
