In 2007 I contested a ticket. In 2010 the photo enforcement tried to claim I didn't contest in time. So I email the mayor their original contest acceptance letter.
Ticket dismissed. Original protest video still up.

...continued. So either the radar is wrong or the video speed was altered. If the video speed is altered than the yellow light length could be shorter than the law requires. Either way, faulty equipment. Also, California now has an appellate court decisions about constitutionality that can be cited in your defense. Basically, look for flaws, point them out, don't lie, don't admit shit, and definitely fight it. If everyone did the courts would be overwhelmed.

...Continued. Can't have an alibi if you don't know when crime took place. They also had the camera location listed with erroneous south/north bound directions. Wasn't me, I was going the other direction :) If the written trial failed, i was going to argue the 6th amendment right to confront witnesses against me. Also planned to question camera calibration that the state witness couldn't answer. Why is that important? The speed of the car didn't jive with the picture speed. continued...

I bet my ticket too. So did a friend at work. We're both kind of convinced they're just dismissing anyone who fights them now. Anyhow in case it helps, here's what i did. Trial by written declaration, I wrote a fucking book. Found all kinds of issues. First the picture was NOT clear as required by law. Then the photos had speeds listed that didn't jive with the wheelbase of the car crossing same points in the video. The ticked also didn't have AM/PM on the time. continued...

@N0GGINB0NKER no court can make you pay court costs if case dismissed.

Also, many times when I get to the light it turns yellow. A lot of people stop on yellow now. Sometimes that causes rear end collisions. If I know it's a red light cam, most of the time I'll just stop on yellow cuz I don't know how slow the fucker in front of me is gonna be going through the light and I don't wanna get stuck with a ticket for some bullshit.

I always heard if you try to fight a ticket in court that at the very least they can make you pay "court costs". Some say that it ends up costing more than the ticket itself. Where I'm from red light tickets are $50.
And to people saying "Just don't run the light, derp derp..." Not all cases are simple black and white like that. So far I've only got one, and it was for making a right turn on a ramp FROM the interstate while the light was red. 999.999 out of 1000 including cops do the same.

Red Light cameras are bullshit. It's about nothing other than revenue. It's proven that accidents are on the rise where they're installed.

Excellent. So many sheep don't understand their rights, and it is the government's job to prove beyond reasonable doubt, not your job to prove you were not guilty.
Hey MOMO they a new invention now and there called cameras and they are digital..imagine how clear and crisp the judge sees your face....YOU FAiL

@milkywaycenter - You must understand the camera system before posting such comments. The photo enforced systems only take a photo of the rear of the vehicle. There are no front end cameras taking pictures, therefore they do not SEE your face.
