At 5:50 am this morning (Saturday 8/20/11), my wife and I were jolted out of bed by the screeching sirens being sounded all over Ashdod warning of incoming Palestinian Grad rockets from Gaza. We immediately ran down to our bomb shelter in the bottom of our house and waited. You will see darkness as we made our way downstairs, then the inside of the bomb shelter. Finally, after the siren stops, listen for the explosion. We found out later today that a Grad rocket had hit a house 300 meters away. (Pardon the quality of the video-- it was inadvertently shaky--and made with my small Canon camera). See my blog at www.israelstreet.org

@Britz4Gaza as a former IDF soldier I can tell you above all statistics or anything your media sells to you and tries to make you believe that we, as soldiers if we shoot an innocent man we get court marshal, yes, we can go to prison if we shoot an unarmed man. some times children/woman are used as human shields by your beloved terrorists, ahm sorry freedom fighters, and they too get hurt, and some times they themselves are holding a weapon so innocent? @Britz4Gaza 235 in the past 8 years but 6 every hour of cast lead? that doesnt make any sense operation cast lead was 22 days long 22 times 6 is 132.so they killed more than half that what they did in 8 years in 22 days? stop lying and posting false information.

@Britz4Gaza where do you get this info please post me the links for the statistics . I kno that Gaza has the highest obesity problem in all the arab countries. And over 200 truckloads of food and goods cross everyday between the kerem and erez crossings into gaza. How do i know? i lived there. I also know that less than 100 children were killed in the entire operation cast lead. How can you explain to me the Itamar Massacre. Or how about the 8 israelis that have died in the past 3 days...

@izeldner explain how targeting civilians has anything to do with the best army and air force in the middle east? Hamas aims directly at civilian populations, while israel has cancelled many airstrike and assasinations because the risk of civilian death was too high. Nobody is perfect but if you launch your weapons at my civilians from your civilians areas you are solely responsible for damage on both sides.1 month and a day away from declaring statehood in the UN and this is what they do...

@tusharip I understand why you are so clueless. IDF shooting 5 and 14 year old Palestinian children (recorded by the UN) 235 killed in the past 8 years. Children shot in their heads and torso, do you understand why you are clueless now? And how clueless are you that 6 Paslestinian children were killed every hour during operation cast lead, how clueless are you?....Very clueless!! Obviously.
