Starting either with a brass ox plated finding/filigree or a CLEAN, DEGREASED raw brass finding/filigree you can easily do a fine nickel-free gunmetal finish at home SAFELY with spray paints or acrylic paints on a brush or sponge. For safety's safe, please do all spray painting outside, in a tent with exhaust or with the windows open. You will learn to seal the pieces with either matte spray lacquer (do outside, etc) or Diamond Glaze/ICE brand resin for a solid protective finish. Have questions? All you need to do is ask me. Yes you can defintely bend them whereas w the plating it was a problem

Thx for the info. I learned from being a retailer in the past-that other countries have totally different regulations than the USA. Pewter is an issue-even warnings are being put on crystal pieces ie:if you want to include it in a necklace. If it lays against your skin- not good. Yet this is a law warning from Calif. The rest of the states don't warn like California does. Calif is more advanced in safety laws. We drink out of crystal glasses. Acidic drinks like wine cause crystal to leech lead.

Can these be bent after painting?
