The Codex Alimentarius agenda, which has long metastasized in the recesses of closed board rooms and governmental chambers, is now coming to light. This is the paramount issue of our times, yet few know about it. If Codex standards ever replace the current laws in the U.S. governing food and dietary supplements, it will affect not just Americans' right to choose supplements, but our right to grow crops with untampered seeds, to buy pure organic food, and to live free of the tyranny of Big Agro-Chem-Pharma-Med, through health-destructive FDA rules enacted and enforced by a pro-corporate government that cares nothing about our health freedom. In other words, the "natural health" industry will perish. Now more than ever, we must exercise our democratic duty and be vigilant in protecting that freedom, the health and survival of the Earth, and all her creatures and citizenry.

Please take action now and let your representatives know of your opposition to Codex, to prevent the pro-disease industries and affiliated financial interests from seizing the total power they crave. It's our obligation to tell our Congressional leaders to stop Codex and to protect and promote food and health safety and freedom. Our right to live healthfully is at stake.

Let us remember the vehement, relentless defiance by the founders of our nation that broke the stifling grip of tyrannical rule, giving us the democracy we wanted and way of life we now cherish, which are now threatened. At this time of mounting crisis, each of us must expose this clandestine monster while claiming and exercising that democratic freedom as never before.

In 1996, the Ecologist magazine revealed that, when the Codex Alimentarius met, the German delegation put forward a proposal, sponsored by three German pharmaceutical firms, that no herb, vitamin or mineral should be sold for preventive or therapeutic reasons, and that supplements should be reclassified as drugs.[1] The 28th Session of the Codex Alimentarius Commission was subsequently held July 4 - July 9, 2005. [2] Among the many issues discussed were the "Guidelines for Vitamin and Mineral Food Supplements"[3], which were adopted during the meeting as a new global standard. This text has been the subject of considerable controversy, in part because many member countries regulate these substances as therapeutic goods or pharmaceuticals and not as foods (if they were not foods, they would be excluded from the Codex Alimentarius). The text does not seek to ban supplements, but to subject them to dosage, labeling and composition requirements.
The Guidelines have attracted concern from both consumers and industry due to the potential for restrictions on vitamins and minerals as dietary supplements. The health freedom movement has pointed to greater concerns related to restrictions on dietary supplement ingredients in Europe [4] via the European Union's Food Supplements Directive [5] (which utilizes approved lists of ingredients and ingredient forms) and potentially restrictive dosage limits to be based on a Codex model via the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and World Health Organization (WHO) Nutrient Risk Assessment Project.

  • This kind of unscientific crap happens only in the US, where 60% of the people still believe that God created the earth in 7 days and that man and dinosaurs lived together at one point in time, and that evolution is bollocks. Of course, and the earth is 6000 years old.

Grow up people. Read, get educated, and dump your superstitions about the big government and the WHO taking over your kitchen. The Codex Alimentarius is a voluntary reference standard - your country is not FORCED to adopt it.

  • I don't trust big government, from experience.

The truth is somewhere in the middle. Please read up on what drug companies are trying to do to supplements.

  • Enjoy this tidbit of news as Codex has hit the fan...

Go to Guardian.co.uk and search for "Herbal Remedies Banned"...

  • "To punish the states members with a money charge if they doesnt rule the standards, stablished in codex to market them products" ISN´T THAT TO FORCE YOU TO ADOPT IT? Trade is about money....And we are running in a monetary system,,,,,,,is like to add 1+1 is 2...no other way.....The NWO have a lot of weapons to intimidate us.....codex is one of the tools

  • I love it! "Drug Firms"..Big Pharma!! More lobbyist than ANY other concern. Must be a drug rep.SHAME! Science? and on the spelling errors...wanna have aspelling B? Moron!

  • what we do know for certain is that there is a bill hr 875 that obama is trying to pass that would make backyard vegetable gardens illegal and that Obama has appointed former vice pres of Monsanto to the FDA, there just might be a conflict of interest there! Also appointed Dr Hamberg, a former Monsanto lobbyist!

This assault on healthy food is real! It isn't conspiracy crap. IT IS REAL!!!! There is a lot of info on this. It is so important!

  • Voluntary: We (the US) proposed the CTBT, but never ratified it, even though it was adopted by the UN in 1996. We have voluntarily chosen to stay out of it.

Unscientific: Just because you are paranoid about drug firms, politics and other corporations, does not negate science. If it does, please give your data and sources.

PS: By the way, please correct your spelling errors. On a cursory glance, I've spotted 4. If you are trying to debate in English, please learn to write in it.

  • How is it voluntary? If its passed by a governing body like WHO or WTO countries that choose not to adopt a legislesture such as. making organic foods illigeal to grow, get continually taxed rediculous amounts until they cannot do anything about it.

Unscientific? Have you taken a look at anything? The relationship between politics and drug companies? The amount of food bills that are currently trying to be passed in congress? etc. etc. etc. Its no unscientific, theres plenty of documented info.

  • are you aware that dr. ian crane has said (and gave his reasons for) that laibow is a possible codex shill?
