Read the info, there's instructions.

This video is shot with crappy cellphone camera and is just to demonstrate that my Alpine Type-R 12" is really connected to home stereo and is using car amp. So don't complain about the image and sound quality.

This is what you need:

1. Car sub and amp (obviously)
2. Rca-outs from stereo or computer etc, preferably subwoofer "pre out" and long enough rca cable
3. Computer power supply (the more wattage the better, keep on eye at 12v ratings: 30amps at one rail will do for many applications, don't use multirail supplies)

When you have all the mentioned stuff, just connect sub+rca to amp and power supply's 12v + and - wires to amp (usually yellow and black cable, easily acquired from molex leads). You must also make a jumpwire from +12v to remote.

And you're done!

Note, that you can also use multichannel amps this way for example stereo speakers+sub with 4 channel bridgeable amp.

  • question , you know how to wire up my aura shaker , say i use my home theater subwoffer .. It has in's n out's for wire's !! But IDK how to make it work . when I hook a speaker to the out input on the back on the Sub I hear notthing ? Would I have to wire it to my AVR Reciver ?

  • @MrPopyotop Aura Shaker is apparently meant to be used in a car? In that case you will need an amplifier to run it. Your subwoofer's outputs are for pass through only so it won't give any power out (they rob the signat from say front speakers if you don't have RCA-out for a sub in your AVR). If your AVR has a powered subwoofer channel, use that. If not you will have to buy a subwoofer amp for it

    Ok Thank You !!!

  • @MrPopyotop No problem, glad to be of assistance ^^

  • The problem is finding an AC to DC converter that puts out 100amps or more, or getting 2 equal cheap ones and putting them in parallel. Gona cost a few bucks either way

  • Pendulum. Fuck yes.

  • People... using transformed power supply for a car amplifier, which transforms it again to its voltage supply isnt too healthy...

  • PENDULUM!!!
