Barack Obama Offends Black Men by Dissing Black Fathers

Barack Obama was wrong during a father's day speech in which he implied and stated that black men are among the most irresponsible fathers in America. Black men are challenging Barack Obama, stating that he was wrong in his assertion.

Black men were the first to stand up for Michelle Obama, when she was attacked by Fox News and called a "baby mama". Also, black men have worked hard to overcome many sociological hurdles that include having a tougher time to provide for their families due to challenges in the job market. The burden to provide for the family usually falls hardest on the father, and it has been shown in studies that men who have the inability to provide financially for their families are the least likely to have a family.

Also, Obama's statements ignored the role that black women play in destroying their families. Some of them play games with their children and keep them from their fathers. Obama should recognize this fact as he condemns black fathers the way the rest of the world has done.

if they're offended, then President Obama's comments pricked their hearts. The point wasn't about fathers that take care of their children. It was about the ones that DON'T! If you're doing your job (not just paying child support) then more power to you. But if you have a child(ren) that you haven't seen/talked to in weeks/months, then it's time to stop making excuses & get in their lives & make an impression.

Since Obama has been in office our unemployment rate has improved by 9% and the economy has been steadily improving as well. You may have not felt the change yet but it’s coming, slowly but surely.
