The 5.0L was 185i back when this thing came out, at least by Holden's specs. As the TAC ad used to say back then, 'SS Commodore can do 0-100 in 7.9, would suck the doors of this piece of garbage' (said by the passenger in an EA shape Falcon; driver floors it shortly after and gets pulled over later by none other than a Police-pack SS Commodore with the same engine).
