@sarcee1960 In 1969, a pound was worth about $2.40. In the pre-decimal British currency, there were twelve pence to a shilling and twenty shillings to a pound. So a shilling is worth about 12 cents. British pence were roughly equal in value to US cents. Nowadays the pound is decimal, so there are just 100 pence to a pound, and no shillings.
