Driven by a desire to educate the local community on how to live more naturally and support the green movement, the Green Living Expo in Long Island was born.

[Jed Morey, Co-Founder, Green Living Expo]:
"In this show you see a greater concentration on things to do for the home, things to do to create less toxic and more well environment."

An old tire from your car can be turned into the flooring for your home its 100% recycled but still pleasing to the eye.

[Hal Fuchs, President, Bergen Tile]:
"We are providing flooring that is environmentally friendly, and it could mean several different things to be environmentally friendly sometimes the products are made in a sustainable way, where it doesn't hurt the environment in the manufacturing process, sometimes it means to have a products that are made of a recycled products."

Synthetic grass is also making its way into the green movement for these reasons.

[Anthony Bopp, Owner, G9 Turf]:
"The key environment concerns of this products is one, we eliminate completely the use of pesticides, herbicides or fertilizer being put into our ground water. The second thing is although everyone has their lawn mowed or maintained every week the amount of methane gas that is emitted based on the deterioration or decomposition of those grass clipping, exceeds the amount oxygen that the average lawn will put out. The third reason is the average amount of water that home owner will use for their yard is approximately 25 gallons per one square foot. So if somebody has a 1000 square foot yard, they will potentially safe 25,000 gallons of water annually."

This is a home cleaning product not a mouth freshener, but its so environmentally friendly that its fine even if its swallowed.

The expo showcases cars ... jewelry... solar roofing... and lots more. The two-day event educates visitors, and shows them how they can live and manage their homes in a green way.

[Jed Morey, Co-Founder, Green Living Expo]:
"Life, energy, sustainability, this is all about good healthy living this is all about positive energy, clean energy and sustainability."
