In 2001, jazz trombonist Roswell Rudd, and producer Verna Gillis/Soundscape went to Bamako, Mali to record a cd for Universal - this unique collaboration between Roswell and Toumani Diabate, the world's greatest living kora player, was released as MALIcool.
A production company from Switzerland, afro blue, documented the process of producing this new music.
Presented here in six segments.

I'm having a bad few days, the soul in Roswell's trombone solo at the start soothed my headache. Thanks for posting.
I still have the problems but I can still breathe as well :-)

Roswell Rudd's MaliCool immediately became one of my favorite recordings. It was a great and welcome surprise to find a film had been made documenting the process of bringing this exceptional work of art to the world.
