  • @katooey not always.a knife attack has been known to defeat guns at closer ranges.watch inosanto knife deffence on u tube

  • 21 guys are still trying to disarm knives in their Karate dojo.

  • disagree

  • @Eaglos techniques that are taught in filipino and malaysian martial arts are all legit. as there is still civil wars in these parts of the world these style are still practiced and used. learning these styles will not remove all danger and make you invincible but give you a better chance of survival. the reason martial artist train a lot is to learn deal with a high tense situation in a relaxed manor as possible as a relaxed fighter fights better. yes i agree keep your distance as in run away

  • Great clip. Clears the air on the subject. Note most of the 'comments' are filled with crap! No matter how good you get, you will still get cut in a knife fight. If you ever get in one and survive it, you will know what I mean. Spend more time honing yoir concealed pistol draw skills. My Walther PPK trumps your knife!

  • I use my longest weapons in this situation.

HANDS SHOULD ALWAYS BE USED LAST.

you never want to put your hands into the path of a raging knife attacker.

your longest weapons are YOUR LEGS...if no stick or pipe is present to grab.

1)move your hands around to distract him/give him something to swing at.

    this is natural for him.

2)front snap kick the nuts, shin, stomach QUICKLY.

    He WILL NOT expect it.

3)if he is dazed then grab the knife hand/arm with both hands or quickly strike throat, disarm.

  • @somethingman16 He does - the passive hand (or "checking hand" as it is also called) only comes into play AFTER a cut/strike to defang. It acts as a kind of "insurance policy"

  • Knife attacks are not "ceremonial" fights where the participants

present arms and take opposing positions... Knife attacks are

sudden and unexpected. The knife is hidden and in an instant

it is out and stabbing you all over.

There are not fancy cuts or fluid movements, just brute force and

adrenaline. The key is keep your distance and somehow immobilise

the hand holding the knife. "Defanging snakes" better stay on youtube.

  • I got a question too. Couldn't that useless block be made effective by GRABBING his wrist, and then when he pulls back for a flail you get in and strike his face? You wouldn't even need a knife...
