When Alan was 2 years old, his father passed away from a drug overdose. Soon, Alan found his way into trouble and entered juvenille hall at age 15. After spending several years in and out of jail, Alan made the decision to change his life for the better, and joined Taller San Jose (St. Joseph's Workshop), where he received the job training and support services he needed to begin his pathway out of poverty. Today, as a husband and father, Alan works full time to support his family.
Because of Taller San Jose, Alan's children will not need a second chance.
