A slideshow of Archibald Motley's most famous paintings along to the track 'High Society Rag' by King Oliver's Creole Jazz Band.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Archibald John Motley, Junior (September 2, 1891, New Orleans, Louisiana -- January 16, 1981, Chicago, Illinois) was an American painter. He studied painting at the Art Institute of Chicago during the 1910s. He is most famous for his colorful chronicling of the African-American experience during the 1920s and 1930s, and is considered one of the major contributors to the Harlem Renaissance.
Unlike many other Harlem Renaissance artists, Archibald Motley, Jr. never lived in Harlem—-he was born in New Orleans and spent the majority of his life in Chicago.
@Carolinamoon7777 Well I made this video because I saw there wasn't any about Archibald Motley on YT.
Thanks a lot for watching and bearing witness of such a great artist.

I don't know who posted this, but it is quite wonderful. I knew Archibald Motley in Chicago in the l940's; my best friend at the time was his half-brother, Willard Motley, and I often had Sunday dinner at their mother, Mary's home. Archibald was an incredibly elegant dresser who wore spats. Thank you for posting this, and the music is a great fit.
