A SWP (Southwest Pennsylvania Railroad) 2001 derailed on its way to pickup a cut of loaded coal hoppers in Connellsville. On their way down , the rail rolled under the weight of the third unit. They uncoupled the first two, and then proceeded to rerail the locomotive. It doesn't take long, as the crossing acted like a rerailer, just like in model trains. 2001 is rebuilt GP11. July 11, 2001. Thanks for watching....

  • Why are these the same scheme as the AVR?

  • @iceman977th Owned by the same people.

  • Wow, where did this happen at? That 2001 just went west recently to go to Brewster for rebuild and painting. This is vintage stuff I say!

  • @xxxDeath9572xxx Happened just off 119 near C'ville. About 1/2 mile after Brook car dealership. I saw that 2001 pas wast week trailing. They had the stacks all covered, and taped up. I got some neat footage of the SWP, but don't know if there is much interest in this line...

  • Thanks for putting up another of your unique video. Excellent.

  • @iusetano Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it. There will be some more odd-ball stuff coming, and will try to spread it out to keep interest peaked. Take care, Jackmp294.5...

  • Unstoppable rail safety train?

  • If you ever look at tracks you will see alot of spikes working loose and if you watch while a train rolls over them the rail drops even more and the spikes come loose more. derailments like this will happen because of this. Just poor track maintenance.

  • RS Campaign!

  • stick some tires on that and drive around... just make sure there are no turns!

  • Good thing it had one of those ho scale rerailers in the crossing.

  • That looks to be a paducah rebuild. Ex IC?

  • Great catch, thanks for sharing.

  • That paint looks great, tell it not to derail again 4 me!

  • look like they need to replace railroad tie's.
