I am a serious fan & collector Michael Jackson's music. The late legend made some interesting history from beyond the grave during the American Music Awards on 11/22/09. The late 'King of Pop' won FOUR posthumous awards—including Favorite Pop/Rock Artist, Pop/Rock Album, Soul/R&B Artist, and Soul/R&B Album for his 2003 'Number Ones' CD, bringing his AMA career total to 25. I'm all for proper tributes to legends like MJ, but this just doesn't seem right. How do you feel about the AMAs basically ignoring current artists and giving 4 awards to Michael Jackson, who's last studio project ('Invincible') was released 8 years ago ? There's no hating on MJ, just wished a more fitting tribute was given by the AMAs.

  • Michael deserved that award because in 2009 after he tragically passed away, his cds&downloads sold more than the highest selling cd @ the time,i believe by the black eyed peas. The 2003 cd included big hits which did deserve recognition...I still think he should've won artist of the year, because as you said Taylor only gained more popularity after the Kanye fiasco. It's a true shame what the music industry has come to.

  • @NatMJ21 Thanks, I guess the AMA is all about sales not recent creativity. This is why I don't watch award shows or pay attention to music charts, etc. I love Michael's music, but this was lame in my opinion. At any rate, let's hope that Epic/Sony figures out how to release music from the vaults

  • Hey so what poster or picture are you holding up in your video? I would so like to know where you purchased that....good video

  • @JiaIreland LOL...Thanks, but that was just an image I found on google. It may still be available

  • His death sparked millions of dollars worth of sells. Plus his albums were going platinum every year (1 million copies sold) before his death anyway, especially Thriller. But i am also suspicious about this. I don't watch that stuff either. It's probably a way to make the conspiracy less conspicuous.

  • @milljh711 Thanks for watching and posting your comments. Stay tuned, as Sony prepares to sell a bunch of previously unreleased songs by MJ. Before it's all said & done, MJ's debt will be resolved and like Elvis, be worth more dead than alive. The leeches (including the extensive Jackson family) will have hands out for sure.

  • He is simply the KING OF POP and his new fans and loyal fans voted for him. Well deserving only wish he was still around. You never know the the value of someone until they are gone. RIP Michael, your talent and expertise will be greatly missed.

  • i'll give you my reason. i do understand your viewpoint, but here's my view. 2009 was his comeback year. death or no death; this generation was s'posed to witness his magic. death grabbed the king, just before he could show the world what he could do. he had a new album soon to be released in addition to his HUGE concert plan. Number Ones is his most recent work; so that's what was to be credited. i bet next year his new album would be nominated anyway. i think he deserved this. RIP michael..<3

  • Thanks for your great comments

  • It would have been so much nicer if there was a new album to vote on! I think fans who voted had to "make do" with the Number Ones. They felt that they must vote for Mike, almost like people were making up for what they didn't do when he was alive.

I'm glad I believed in him, now that hes gone. I loved him since the very first time I saw him on Ed Sullivan. I don't have the Number Ones, but I have others-my favorite being Invincible, and I had Invincible in my heart when I voted.

  • So true. MTV wouldn't be anything what it is today if it weren't for Billie Jean or Thriller. They owe him much, and no, there's no one else who deserves that name. Only him,<3
