I had my finger cut off and had the opportunity to have a prosthetic but I decided that I'm not going to rely on a prosthetic and will just try harder to throw a ball with 4 fingers...

I have ADHD and I take ritalin. My whole life changed when I started to take medication. I am more motivated, independent, happy, calmer, and more in control than I have ever been in my whole life.
People who say that medication is never the answer need to stop being so damn close minded. To some people, it WILL help. And it will help a lot.

"ADHD people" are people that are simply bored with existence. We (I have ADHD) have a zest and lust for life beyond others. I don't understand how that is an "illness". We should be encouraged and nourished. John Lennon, Albert Eienstein and Bob Dylan all had/have ADHD. Why do you attack us?

I have ADHD, I just cant focus and I play with pencils and erasers and I never shut up. I hate sitting down because it's boring and I cant do it because I get really boring. But I can sit through a movie cause I love movies!

@cylaisawesome I agree! I do take the medicine though and I must say it helps so much. But I don't need it to take a test I just need it to take notes for the test.

@brianpeppers5ft2 No its not an excuse. I have ADHD and i move around a lot and i can't really think straight in class. And if it was an excuse people wouldnt be diagnosed with ADHD now would they.
Is there some drug you can give to boring control-freak teachers who hate fidgetty boys?

I was diagnosed as a child with ADD, but my parents didn't tell me I had it. They instead helped me with my homework every night and taught me ways to help me concentrate. While I am in college now and still struggling, I know I did it on my own and have learned how to control myself. I have known people who use ADD as a crutch, saying they cannot take a test, study, or work without taking medication. That angers me - people need to learn how to deal with themselves and not depend on medication.
