Artist: Saxon
Song: Sailing to America
Album: Crusader
Track: #4

Lyrics:
Excitement in the air
There's a journey to prepare
They check the food and water's all on board
They're waiting for the tide
The sails are open wide
They're sailing to a better place to dwell

They're sailing to America
Fly the banners high
They're sailing to America
Set the rigging high

The quayside's full of friends
A farewell in their hands
No-one knows if they'll reach the shore
As Plymouth slips away
They'll not be back again
They're sailing off towards the promised land

They're sailing to America
Fly the banners high
They're sailing to America
Set the rigging high

They're sailing to America
Fly the banners high

The Mayflower's on her way
Set sail for many days
The lookout searching for the distant shore
Anchored in the surf
Their journey's at an end
The pilgrims set their feet on virgin land

They're sailing to America
Fly the banners high
They're sailing to America
Set the rigging high

THIS SONG, ITS LYRICS AND ITS ALBUM COVER DONT BELONG TO ME IN ANY WAY. I JUST UPLOADED IT FOR YOU GUYS TO LISTEN TO AND ENJOY IT. THIS SONG BELONGS TO SAXON FROM THEIR ALBUM CRUSADER 1984.

  • Hey people, relax i take it back. this album isnt bad though far from their best.

  • I don't know how you could hate this track, the original vinyl release is hands down the best for sound quality in my humble opinion but this track is f'ing awesome..Sell outs, are you kidding me???

  • @disturbedspike

I don't get all this 'selling out' shit. All bands want to be succsessful and make money.Playing in small clubs and earning fuck all is not 'cool'.

  • @cocolukia21 I actually do not hate this album..just this track.

  • I remember the album didn't do it for me like their earlier albums, but this song is undeniably brilliant.

  • @disturbedspike So becoming more well known makes you a sell out? Are you fucking kidding me? This album is fucking amazing. If you don't like it , fine, but just because this album made them more mainstream, that doesn't make them sellouts. This is Saxon. Not Metallica.

  • More like Selling OUT to America, this is when saxon started becoming commerical though the title track is fucking epic.

  • Quality has a name: Saxon!

  • One of my favorite tunes from Saxon....it`s beautiful and so perfect!

  • @Wildhorses39 The production makes the sound more justice on the CD release from 1984. Later pressing from 1988 is not bad but the re-issues later on were horrible mixed and all remastered editions are crap. Unlike other my uncle didn't bought it on LP he bought it on CD when the album was released. If you want better quality look for the West German first pressing on Carrere by Polygram from 1984 with label on disc.
