@Altantis 94 -- Totally agree! She's young so I hope she'll acquire the soulfulness she's missing. I had the pleasure of seeing her a few days ago and while her pitch is amazing and exact, her scatting is really rhythmic, there was something missing - for me and the audience because no one seemed moved by her. I think she can overcome this if she works at it.
I don't know how it is possible to NOT hear the heart and soul in this. I realize Cyrille Aimee didn't write this song, but she may as well have. The soul she put in this song is obvious.
I had the pleasure of seeing Cyrille several times in Italy. She is unforgettable. Clearly adored by her fellow musicians she captures her audience with her upbeat, gypsy-like persona and eclectic repertoires then transports them into a bohemian rhapsody. Some artists are natural on stage while others are more geared for the studio. Cyrille has earned her living performing to audiences around the world. She is a diamond in need of a equally great producer. She's real.
@Atlantis94 ya she clearly has no idea how to sing which is why she palced in the top 3 in the thelonious monk vocal jazz competition , grand prize winner of the montreux vocal jazz competition with al jarreau in the jury, and why she is constantly in demand in new york playing with the likes of roy hargrove and many others... clearly an amateur...
