When Terry Connolly first thought about this we trialled it at the then Top Rank Club in Hayes (Now Mecca Bingo) It was hugely successful and to this day clubs are still playing it. In this short clip, is the GM of the club then - Gordon Warden - along with the team at Hayes demonstrating how good it was. Just look at how packed the club was....and doesn't it seem strange to see all those cigarettes and ashtrays!
Looks a lot different to today! Less seats upstairs today, seats are red and blue today !

What I like most in the wonderful old cinema building that it's being hosted in, and the fact that it's a proper stage. the modern flat buildings where the caller randomly stands on a small platform is really drab, and doesn't create an atmosphere like seen here, especially when the manager and the caller have a bit of banter.

As a bingo player I would always avoid nights when the hall was full like that as the smoke was unbarrable, thankfully since the smoking ban the air is much cleaner.
