im kinda trying to figure out the recording with the d8b... could i take three adat xt's and an adat BRC and not have a computer other than the cpu that comes with the d8b? Would i still get all of the tracks running through the console?

Yes, if you have optical connections in the d8b you can have 24 ins and out from/to the console. In a d8b you can have 24 digital channels running along the 24 analog inputs. I fact you could have 6 Adat connected to the console for mixing, 3 of them digitally and 3 via analog. For recording you could only have 24 channels digitally connected and another 8 channels going out through the Alt output via digital or analog, giving you 32 inputs at the same time.
