A greedy, deceitful rancher stirs up trouble with a local Indian tribe, creating a dangerous, hostile climate. Only the Lone Ranger and his faithful friend, Tonto, can prevent a savage war from breaking out.
He was called the Lone Ranger because he was the only surviving Texas Ranger after the massacre of a troop of rangers by the deadly Butch Cavendish Hole in the Wall Gang. He had to keep his identity secret so he could eventually trace down Cavendish - which he did.
I was Tonto who saved him after the massacre and it was Tonto who helped kill Cavendish
Tonto was my favorite character on the show partially because he was more original they changed the Lone Ranger Clayton Moore and John Hart. Tonto also showed his face so he was the real face of the show the Lone Ranger always wore a mask.
@714sunnyday Take a chill pill and leave off with the stupid racist ranting; you'll live longer and better for it.
The show promoted all manner of silly stereotypes, as did all TV series in those days, but we all survived anyway. It was fun for what it was and Jay Silverheels made a living from it. Besides, most of us kids thought that Tonto was a totally cool guy; we never saw him as being less than the Lone Ranger. All those old westerns had a "sidekick" and Tonto was the best one.
