I'm thinking a couple of things watching flamenco--the first thing I'm thinking is that the hand motions that the women do has a lot of influence from belly dancing and the next thing I'm thinking is that the footwork everyone does has a lot of reference in the step dancing of Ireland.

It's so cool. All of it.

I also love the 'ex voto' singing. It's a style of singing that I heard as a child in the south of Italy and which I have also heard in New Mexico--a great singing style and tradition!
