nope most new usb sticks are bootable but you may have to format it etc to make it bootable but i think its quite easy and theres tutorials online just google it! :)

do u format the usb first? before flashing the bios?

i cant remember as i updated it when i first got it. i downloaded bios update files from asus support then put the bios file on my usb stick and went into asus ez flash and updated of the usb stick.
