You've been running, running,
For a long, long time
You've been running running
With No peace of mind.
You regret the day
That you turned away
And became a fugitive from God!

Why don't you turn turn turn around
Why do you roam?
Can't you see God the Father
Waits to welcome you home?
You were never meant
To walk the path you trod
How long will you run away,
A fugitive from God?

You've been seeking seeking
Everything but Him
You've been living living
All your life in sin
You can see the light
But you chose the night
You've become a fugitive from God

God's been calling calling
For His long lost child
He's been calling calling
For a long long while
You can hear his voice
Make HIm your choice
Don't become a fugitve from God

Why don't you turn turn turn around
Why do you roam?
Can't you see God the Father
Waits to welcome you home?
You were never meant
To walk the path you trod
How long will you run away,
A fugitive from God?

How long will you run away,
A fugitive from God?

  • Who is singing, and what is the source, please?

  • @ThomasASwilling All I know is the singers are girls who were in the Rebekah Home set up by the late evangelist Lester Roloff. I really do not have any better information than that. Sorry. If you check out some of my other Roloff music (I cant remember which songs now), some women who were once in the home have left comments. They might know.

  • I was in the Honey Bee Quartet and singing on this recording. I miss Bro Roloff and will see him one day soon and my sweet Jesus

  • This is Bro Roloffs original Honey Bee Quartet. Linda Smith, Renee' Weatherford, Brenda Rittenberry and Diane Burton

  • i am 13 and i heard this song at my friends school program and instantly loved it i heard and it was an all male vocal group it is an amazing song

  • When I first heard this song, I was shooting the album cover for a group called "The Crisp Family". The oldest daughter, Denise, sang the lead, and her father, mother, and sister backed her up. It wasn't done a capella, though. They had piano, bass, and guitar accompaniment. It was the best version I've ever heard, before or since. I never knew where or how they got the song. Another that they did that I've not heard since was "The Least In the Kingdom"--another beautiful and powerful song.

  • I am 50 years old. I remember 40 or more years ago going to camp joy in missouri.

They played a movie with this song in it. We all learned the song. I wish I could remember the name of the movie so I could try to find it and watch it again for it made a real impact on my life. All I can remember is a man had a motor cycle wreck in the movie but the song stuck with me 40 years or more. If anyone could tell me the name of the movie you would make me a very happy man. God bless you Jerry Turner

  • Wow, haven't heard this is YEARS. What a great song.
