@CrackBerryTorch exactly thats what i was saying. All these idiots keep flooring it.
-
traffic cones = traction
-
@zedvw2002 ya true, but when it took off i saw the front wheels spin, and then the back wheel
-
@homelesspimps i believe that was an S-line A4 which does not come in quattro..it is fwd....quattro is amazing however, front wheel bias when you need it in situations like this and rwd bias during sporty driving
-
slow and steady gas pedal use, flooring it doesn't give you traction...... little to no braking, all it does is lock the wheels..... 4wd and snow tires help but does not give you the ability to drive like a moron...... with a manual transmission keep it in a low gear and keep the revs high, use the engine as your brake....and with an auto trans use L or 1 or 2 if you have it...keeping it in D drops the revs and leaves the braking to your now useless brakes.... its not that hard.
-
If you press the gas hard, your tires wont be able to grip anything and then you'll dig a little hole to the ice. Start of slow, let your tires get some grip then give it a little gas, man people dont know how to drive.

I'm pretty sure that Nokia had winter tires already in 1936 - I think it is about time somebody told americans about it...
-
The towtruck driver said it best. "We all over estimate our ability". I grew up in CO. I'm constantly harassed about how slow I drive in the snow. I call it experience! If you can't know where exactly you will come to a rest, you're going to fast!
-
@segovian You might want to come and do the plowing here then if you hope lots of snow. :(
