Flamethrowers damage used to fall off steadily as the distance increased. Until right at the tip, it was doing 25% damage. They removed the damage falloff, and it was doing 100% damage thruout. People complained that it made the flamethrower OP, so Valve nerfed it, but the damage falloff wasn't as bad as before.

@MetaLulz1 I'd honestly rather that the flamethrower did the bulk of its damage as afterburn. no more bum-rushing unless your a bloody idiot, and i could finally pull out after setting the entire team on fire >_>

@LapRound actually best close range characters the heavy. at around 27 damage a bullet, pyros don't stand a chance. same with demomen.

@0871Atta what is this about a damage ramp. i didnt get tf2 until after the polycount. are you telling me that there was a time when flamethrowers could kill what they aimed at?
