Finger Flame V2

This is the second (and improved in my opinion) version of my most popular video, the finger flame.

I did this by filming a flame on a black background (it was a T-Shirt actually), and set the transfer mode on the layer to screen. Then I masked out the lighter, and tracked the flame to match my hand from another clip I shot.

how do you make the flame follow your finger?

Actually I used After Effect's tracking tool to make the flame follow my finger. :p

I have Adobe After Effects CS3. But when I tru to transfer it, there is no "MODE" selection button on the program..what do I do?

Tap F4 a couple of times.

lol all you did was get a shot of a candle on a black background and set it to screen over the layer. not that hard to do.

still looks cool, though. I would've used time remapping to get the timing right.

Yeah, check out some of the comments, I've explained that same thing a few times lol. But yeah the tough part is combining the sections of the clip so it flows right and looks natural. Like the part when I blow out the flame, the flame layer doesn't abruptly end. :p
