well, yeah the HD600 is a high-end headphone, even though this is an amped player with dual wolfson audio, i think the hardware is not taken enough advantage of to support such high-end headphones, the firmware is a joke really but still for that price indeed...

my EQ settings are like, since i like a lot of bass and hi-hats (i'm into electronic dance music mostly)

from 6KHz to 60Hz:

@chim081 I don't think driving a 300ohm full size headphone is fair to the player behalf, those are desktop/home headphone, I drive my old HD600(sold><), with a Musical Paradise MP301 MK2 Tube amp, absolutely fantastic, I am going to buy the Flo2 which is basically this

@HiFiReviewer well i don't have this player anymore and i'm not interested in MP4 players anymore but now and then i check out the firmware support site but there's still no new firmware for this, such a shame for what could have been a great player but yeah i agree, the chosen hardware might be a bit over the top for a portable player

@chim081 thx so much. i just received it yesterday. so far so good, though the audio quality is not THAT fantastic. hope i can get some upgrade for the equalizer.

congrats! yes, it's a damn fine sounding player, i use sennheiser cx300 earphones with it because i love bass :P

there is a custom uder EQ with 5 bars

@chim081 Why aren't you interested in it no more? I am actually getting the Flo:2, maybe that would have updated firmware.

i tried to use my sennheiser hd 600 with it but the amp is just too weak so i stick with the earphones it came with.

i found the eq but with 6k top i found it quite useless. still, for this price it is a great buy imo.
