A few years ago there was a rumor that gunshots had been fired in the plane that took down The Big Bopper, Richie and Buddy. Richardson's son actually had his body exhumed and examined by a forensics' expert who reported that although The Big Bopper hadn't been shot, every single bone in his body had been broken as a result of the crash. Further, J.P.'s son told reporters that his father was still recognizable nearly 50 years after he had been buried. Kinda weird but that's what he claimed.
