Which economy is poised to recover from the deepest recession since the 1930s? Who will be on top? Who will fall behind?

America's natural resources, abundant energy and innovative workforce will help it weather the economic crisis better than other nations according to Michael Lind, policy director of the Economic Growth Program and author of "The Next Big Thing: America," which appeared in the May/June issue of Foreign Policy.

Not so, says Flynt Leverett. China, the Gulf states, Brazil and India will come out ahead according to Leverett and co-author Ian Bremmer in a recent article on ForeignPolicy.com. Join Michael Lind and Flynt Leverett for a debate on who will emerge stronger after the crisis moderated by Foreign Policy executive editor Susan Glasser.

  • one word says it all :

    CHINA

  • How many politicians and Bank managers u put in jail?, before start spending people money on Stimulus packs. From outside u look corupted like any 3th world country, and my opinion comes from an Eastern Europe pour country, so u can understand how bad u look.

  • @baigandine Gues what, America now doesnt look at all like America, from outside looks terible, many other countrys are much much better.

  • Policy got us here. Policy will get us forward. Speaking in terms of inevitabilities is defeatism, and not in the American spirit.

  • The United States will not be able to maintain its share of world GDP. Population expansion doesn't mean GDP share expansion because the worth of US bank notes against other currencies will decline dramatically in the next few decades.

  • BRAZIL, of course!
