This was recorded on November 1st, 2007 when Barack visited North Carolina Central University.

"20,000 people in Atlanta, Georgia. We had 20,000 people in Austin, Texas. We had 10,000 people in Iowa City, Iowa. 25,000 people in New York City. And whats inspiring about a crowd like this is not just the size of the crowd but its the makeup of the crowd.

Because, what you see here is a cross section of the nation. Youve got folks from every background; youve got young folks and old folks. (laughter) Youve got black, white Hispanic, Asian, Native American. Youve got-youve got everybody, youve got (laughter)

Youve got Democrats. (cheering) Youve got Independents. And yes, you even have some Republicans. (cheering and laughter) Alright, listen, listen, I know this-I know this because when I shake hands afterwards, folks will whisper to me, they say, Barack, Im a Republican but I support you. (laughter) And I say, Thank you. (laughter)"
