Nikki and Sonny - The End.

The end of me and sonny. 31st jan 05 - 29th aug 10. Nearly 6 years we were together. We had the most amazing relationship someone could ever have with their horse, he was my best friend. He was the main part of my life, and now hes gone. Was time to go seperate ways.
People keep asking why i sold him, i sold him because hes 13.3hh.. and im 16. I wanna do bsja, but im now over the age, to ride a pony his size, im not allowed to do it. If i keep him, i wont get anywhere else competing wise, and he'll eventually be too old to sell, which means il have to keep him till he dies, then i cant even get another, so ill have to stop riding, so the only way is to move on.
It was such a hard decision, i thought about it for about 4 months, even on the day he went, i was still unsure if it was the right choice or not. We had the most amazing relationship, and now max needs my help, and i want to help him. Im getting max hopefully next week/ this week.
Sonnys gone to a little 10 yr old boy, who loves to do pony club, so hes in easy work, which is nice because me and him have come so far and hes done a lot for me
We achieved many things, he came unfit, never been on the road, headshy, and wouldnt jump. We got over his fears, we jumped upto 1m40. Remember, he's only 13.3hh. We started to do bareback riding, and then turned into bareback and bridless with just a rope. we jumped 1m20 like that. i then taught him tricks. He knows tricks like spanish wal, jambette, bow, rear, capriole, please, copy cat and many other things.
People also ask how we got so close, i think how we got so close was mainly through trick training, our problems we had, and the bareback and bridless. Because to be able to achieve all those things, its all about trust.
Ill miss him so much, he will always, always, be my best thing iv ever had in my life and nothing will ever replace him.

it was a good experience :) i think u made the right choice because even tho youll miss each other Sonny will have a happy home with a pony club boy (he gets to teach this kid some stuff, he'll enjoy it) and u get the experience and a whole new experience u can never replace him but its time for a new kind of bond with some1 else :) i wish you best of luck

I sold my first ever pony (first horse ever!) a few months ago, and sometimes I regret it. He went to a talented 6 year old though, who loves taking him out on his cart.
