Director of the film WATCHMEN sat down with National Lampoon's Matt Zaller for a discussion about superhero mythology and how the Watchmen is a unique take on how superheros impact actual historic events. Snyder has quite an impressive knowledge about comic books which makes for an interesting conversion. Snyder also directed the hit film 300. Zaller is a director too, but um. Yeah.

Yeah some parts of the movie were shocking, but it wasn't just shock value to me nor was it just style and no substance. It was a story driven movie and I think that's a reason why people didn't like it. Either they couldn't understand the story or just missed the entire message behind the movie. Some people also don't care about story. They just want to see action, which Watchmen has, but isn't full of.

That's my opinion. To each his own though.

  • @SlasherIncorporated I went into it expecting it not be anything like normal supher. movies and hated. it was kinda like SHOCK VALUE SHOCK VALUE SHOCK VALUE I thought. But, yknow, Prove Me Wrong!

  • From what Zack was talking about with superheros that people know and what not,

I think that's EXACTLY why some people hated Watchmen. They went into it not knowing anything about it and expecting it to be a traditional supehero movie like Spider-Man or X-Men.

And that's why the movie did so well. It stayed true to the novel.

Zack actually sticks to the source material rather than adding in his own stuff and completely changing it.

Would you want to see a completely different movie? That was absolutely nothing like the novel? No, I don't think you would.

Why do you think so many video game movies do so poorly? Because the directors and or writers always change the material.

  • ''Tweeter..my fave'' Hah

  • ahahahaa, your're a cruel one Matt.

  • @julianochoa1 Which of itself is amazing, considering the source.

  • wow a matt zaller interview which went somewhere ;)

  • the internet is viral!

  • wtf he didnt actually do anything creatively he just copied the novel scene for scene
