  • The fine tuning argument does not argue that the whole of the universe is fine tuned for life. This guy is being disingenuous. Physicist Paul Davies has stated that "There is now broad agreement among physicists and cosmologists that the universe is in several respects ‘fine-tuned' for life". However he continues "...the conclusion is not so much that the universe is fine-tuned for life; rather it is fine-tuned for the building blocks and environments that life requires".

  • you have some great stuff here

  • @Disciple1818 That's the GOOD thing about science. It does not rely on faith, it relies on evidence. Faith is defined as belief with no proof. Science is all about proof.

We like to believe we are not the only life in the vast emptiness of space. Finding life elsewhere would be an extraordinary find. We do not need a "spiritual relationship" of any kind. Something that science cannot find does not exist. Plain and simple.

"giving over your life and your ways to Jesus.' That's not free will.

  • @Rebellion57 Thats the thing about scientists, using the scientific method. They have no faith that God is there to begin with. They believe that science can disprove God when it isnt in the right field to do so even. Its sad how people believe in aliens, or other planets that may have life, but don't believe that there is something bigger out there that just can't be found with science, but through relationship.

  • @Rebellion57 Alright man, fair enough, I wont push you to believe anything, but please know the truth about Christianity- cause I know you've seen the "religious" side of it, which is wrong- cause it isnt about being legalistic- its about grace and God's mercy. People who live to be good are still guilty in our God's eyes. Its about faith and giving over your life and your ways to Jesus and what he stands for.

  • @Disciple1818 Scientists actually never say "something isn't there." The scientific method is actually meant to disprove, not prove. They take something observed, and try to disprove anything about it. We can only prove and disprove what is observable. We cannot prove and disprove that which is not observable (such as a god). We will never settle. We will continue to fly into the vastness of space.
