how come when i choose try ubuntu without any change to your computer, it basically freezes and doesnt do anything

The most likely explanation is a bad CD or ISO file.

Thank you for this video, incredibly informative and intuitive, I have been toying with the idea of either, installing Linux on my MacBook Pro via either VM Fusion or Bootcamp. You video has certainly helped me in this decision process, it looks incredibly straight forward and simple via this method. Thank you again for your video.
