ok I have half life blue shift. It isnt the hd pack and it isnt source. but when I did what you said but in the half life blue shift folder, it didnt show in steam. please help

@lpfan595 The blue shift folder isn't the half life folder at all. Steam doesn't know to look there.

Hello, I have a problem installing a mod for Half-Life.

I own Half-Life GOTY NOT Source, but this one comes with a Disk, and has its own folders. The mod I am trying to download is no installer like Brain-Bread. This one is extracted folders, and placing them in the directory does nothing what so ever.

Is there a solution to this that I am not aware of?

Give Steam your Half-Life CD Key so all the folders mentioned here are where they are supposed to be, or find the Valve folder and the Half-Life folder within it.

Mods all come in a folder titled the same as the mod, just put that in the Half-Life folder. Then run whatever .exe is in that folder, and it'll get all the files it needs from Half-Life.

Is it possible to get half life 1 mods without steam? Because I have counter strike and I don't use steam with half life. All I do is click on counter strike app, it goes to half life and I click "change game" and then "counter strike". Can I add more games without steam?
