Heathcliff - Cruel Man (Wuthering Heights)

I haven't made a Wuthering Heights Video for ages!!! I have to point out that I started this video long ago. So the beginnen isn't that good, but it gets better ;) But I'm really proud about the 2nd half of my video!

Now, the plot: the video is mainly about Heathcliff (you'd never guessed this, after reading the headline, right? xD)
Okay, first I tried to focus on Heathcliffs childhood and his and Cathy's innocent love. But everything changed, after Cathy met Edgar. After Heathcliff returned, he wants to take revenge. First he wants to hurt Cathy (f.i. By kissing Isabella), but than he especially wants to make Edgar "pay". He runs away with Isabella and so on... I guess you know the story^^
After Cathy's death, he doesn't give up his plans and uses Catherine (Edgar's daugther). Catherine becomes the victim of his hate. And yes, I included a little bit Catherine/Hareton ;)
However, Heathcliff can't forget the past... first Catherine reminds him on Egdar, but than also on Cathy.

Ralph Fiennes has always played characters with a tortured, twisted, lonely soul soooo well and his interpretation of Heathcliff was absolutely flawless. I, too, could never help but pity that character. Cathy seemed to be the only light in his life and when that was taken from him, his passion, anger, and humiliation got the better of him.Great song to go with this. Yes, he was cruel...but could you honestly blame him? Deep down, we all have a dark side.

thanks for your comment. yeah, I worked on this topic (all about love&hate, Heathcliff and all that stuff) for my final exams, and I feel exactly the same! No matter what he did to all the people around him... well, I guess I feel sorry for him, because Hindley was not nice to him as a child and because he looses Cathy.

This is a great tribute to Heathcliff and his complex personality i.e his love for Cathy, his hatred of Edgar/Cathy/Catherine/himself,­ and his need for revenge. Well done. :)

How I want to hate Heathcliff. How I WISH I could hate Heathcliff. He's really not that nice to anyone but Cathy, and sometimes not even her.

But...I can't. He's just...I don't know. Tragic.

And beautiful. I just can't bring myself to hate anyone played by Ralph Fiennes.
