Voters in Illinois' 10th district will recognize Democrat Dan Seals' name on the ballot - it's his third time running for the seat. But this year his opponent's name will be different. Five-term Rep. Mark Kirk is leaving the House to run for President Barack Obama's old Senate seat, and Bob Dold, owner of a pest control business, is the Republican nominee.
Roll Call sat down with Seals to discuss the race during a visit to our Washington, D.C., office.
Note: This video is part of a series of interviews with 2010 Congressional candidates who stop by the CQ-Roll Call offices. Over the course of the election season, we will feature interviews from as many top races as possible.
Seals is running for congress because he wants a job. He is unemployed and has been for each of his 3 runs for congress. He doesn't live inside our district. I am not aware of any cross over Mark Kirk endorsements. Kirk and Porter are both supporting Dold. Robert Dold fits our districts needs better. Seals and his radical liberalism and his campaign gimmicks have been rejected twice already by 10th district voters, we must reject him again and elect Robert Dold..A lifelong resident of the 10th.
