  • I personally prefer the Sandpipers' rendition (which I regard as almost sublime), but did like this one as well and was glad to learn of it. Thanks for posting. :)

  • @pnutbutrncrackers You're welcome.

  • Who was this lady? Why have I never heard of her before...let alone her incredible voice?

I can see I'm going to be on eBay tonight hunting for her Lp's. Thanks god for YouTube and thanks to people like you who post these treasures.

  • @petclark1 Thanks for the compliment.

  • I also prefer this version to the one by the Sandpipers. Bobbi's emotional voice and the 'faster' speed improve the song so much. Apparently a great talent sadly underused.

  • hey man i love Bobbi just her voice make me feel better

  • so beautiful!

  • @pnutbutrncrackers my dad has the johnny mathis version of this song

  • @DancingSpiderman You're welcome.

  • @wally1435 Wow, yes... I DO remember "For The Love Of Him", vaguely...

It is Very Bacharach, the entire song is a seaside sunset. Like driving southbound along the scenic route through Rancho Palos Verdes between Hermosa Beach and San Pedro during sunset. Thanks for the tip Wally.

  • @DancingSpiderman Yeah, she was from around the early '60s through the '70's. Do a You Tube search for the song "For The Love Of Him" and you'll probably recognize the one huge hit she had.

  • @wally1435 haha yeah I flipped the disk over; no go...

Nice song; I never heard of this singer's name before. Same era as Pet Clark?
