Thornton-fiddle, Emily-guitar, and Kilby-banjo play Old Jimmy Sutton. This is an old tune that has always been played in Virginia and North Carolina. One of the first recordings was by GB Grayson and Henry Whitter. Alot of the old banjo players played this tuned in standard A or G tuning rather than double C/D.Thornton and Emily Spencer are members of the Whitetop Mountain Band (www.whitetopmountainband.com) and Kilby is a member of the Crooked Road Ramblers (myspace.com/thecrookedroadramblers).
