@SnugglePuma I think its more about the ppl that the religion per se. Mormons can go from disowning people &kicking kids out of the house, to really being very accepting. I was raised Mormon, now am atheist, and my family supports me &hasn't really changed much towards me. That said, I do know ppl that were hurt, disowned, or cut off for leaving the flock. But this can be said of Catholics, Evangelicals, Muslims, Jews, any highly religious group. Its a curse of all religion, not just mormonism.

Mormonism is a cult. So is Christianity, but Mormonism is more insidious and more judgmental. I don't really like a religion where if you choose not to be a part of it you are abandoned by friends and family, and treated as a second class citizen...
