Nov. 10, 2009: Timneh babies being fed beans/rice/veggies

The babies are now 52 and 56 days old, and have graduated to a cage. They are also now beginning to learn to take soaked weaning pellets as well as my beans/rice/veggies mix. I like to feed them from my fingers (in addition to the 3 feedings of regular handfeeding formula they get each day) as I think it's a great bonding experience. They are also picking at Cheerios, millet, and whatever I put into the crocks on the floor of the cage. They are doing great, in short!
This video shows the kids being offered some of the beans/rice/veggies mix. The male is the older bird and is a bit more accomplished than his little sis, but she is also getting the idea now.
