Gyms may be filled with healthy people, but it doesnt mean their staff shouldnt be prepared to help after a heart attack. Last fall, a Sunset Athletic Club member collapsed at the service desk following a workout. The staff jumped into action, calling 9-1-1, starting CPR and racing for the nearby AED. Working together, the staff delivered electroshock therapy as paramedics arrived.
After just one shock, the victim regained consciousness and was able to speak. Thanks to the well-trained team at the Sunset Athletic Club and a trip to hospital, this survivor is doing fine today.
